These recycled planters are hand crafted in Morocco from old tyres. The tyres are stripped and then creatively recycled into planters. Purchasing these recycled planters helps to support the traditional Morocco craft communities.
The different tread marks and individual characteristics of the tyre planters make each tyre planter unique. These recycled planters are not moulded. Recycled planters are innovative and attractive. They are environmentally friendly, frost proof and easy to move - if dropped, the recycled planter will bounce!
They are tough and will last. Offering extra strength the recycled planters are suitable for small bushes, bedding plants, allotment produce or herbs.
They can be used to hold plants indoors or as a practical storage solution for logs, magazines, toys or even as a waste paper basket.
Garden Beet does not recommend using tyre planters for edibles. The jury is out on whether contaminates from the tyre planters leach into the soil.
While the tyre planter risks may be low we are erring on the side of caution. We suggest the use of our Patio Planters or Woolly Pockets for growing vegetables.
