The Andiroba tree (Carapa guianensis) is native to tropical South America. The tree has been used for centuries to treat: arthritis, inflammation, skin disorders, fevers, flu and depressiom. And of course it is used as an insect repellent

Andiroba oil is extracted from the round chestnut-like fruits - the seeds are boiled and later squeezed in a wood press known as a tipiti - one Andiroba tree can produce nearly a quarter of a tonne of seeds annually.

This product supports ethical trade in the Brazilian Amazon.
